Well, it hasn't been easy, but I think I've done pretty well these first 2 weeks back to school. I haven't had fast food at all, which is a pretty big accomplishment for me. I've done pretty well with the workout schedule. I've gotten to the fitness center as often as I could, only missing 1 day...I think. I factored it Girls night to my equation, but I didn't factor in a happy hour with the co-workers. So, that kinda threw me off this week. But, I went today. So, not too shabby for me.
I've also been in the Word every morning and writing in my gratitude and prayer journal. It's good to get in the Word and start my day off right. That's all I got blog, just trying to keep myself accountable!

SNOW DAY!!
So, we are back to work for 3 days and we get a snow day! Definitely excited to have the day to relax and take it easy. Just wanted to put it on record that my goals are going pretty well. I have been in the Word every morning with my journal that I'm keeping. I got my fitness center membership renewed and my eating has been pretty good this week. I planned my meals for the week so I wouldn't stop and get fast food and it has really helped. On the fitness front, my friend Beth sent me a few articles to read, which was nice. But, this week has been crazy busy and with the snow I haven't specifically stuck to my schedule. But, I'm doing pretty well and will keep getting better! Enjoy the snow day!

2010!!
New Year's Eve was great. I absolutely enjoy having my college friends in the same room every year. That's the only time that it happens. Well, every year we have a motto for the year. This year the motto is 2010 - Let's try it again! I'm living to that motto. I told my friends that I was setting a goal for myself. I told them about the 5K and running. Wow! I have all runner friends, so they were super excited and encouraging. They are trying to get me to run 4 miles by June...I don't know about that, but at least I have a support system and now I have to do it since I told people. Can't slack off!
I do not want to start school again on Monday. I'm just not ready to go back. However, Monday starts working out, healthier eating, and more time in the Word with God. I'm going to start a gratitude/prayer journal. I'm going to write 3 things that I'm thankful for each day and my prayer journal and watch God work in 2010! But, for now, I'm going to enjoy my last weekend before I have to go back to work:)

Thinking of 2010
So, I have been really thinking about next year and what it brings for me. It will be 10 years since I have graduated high school. That's just insane. I have accomplished a lot in those 10 years. I have my master's degree and a great job. I have completely become more independent since college. I'm really happy with my life right now and super excited for what God has planned in the future.
Next year I am going to take charge of my life a little more though. I think that I am going to set a goal for myself to run. The big goal being to run a 5K, but I will start with little goals. First, I'd like to just run a mile comfortably. In high school, I was in great shape for volleyball. Somehow I just let myself go. So, this year, I'm doing it. I hope that this blog will help hold me accountable to myself. It's hard that most of my best friends are runners and I can't share that with them. So, here I go. 2010 = healthier eating + more physical activity = happier Haley.
In other news, I'm so excited to spend the 2nd annual NYE in Columbia with my best friends. It was so much fun last year...I can't wait for this year. I'll be toasting in 2010 with my favorite people.
So, Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year. I'll see ya in 2010!

Weekend in Columbia!
This weekend I went to visit my friend, Beth in Columbia. It was a great time for me to get away from St. Louis and have some relaxing fun with my friend. We took in a bonfire/hayride, tailgated before the Mizzou game, and went shopping. She bought a new house out there, so we got to peek in the windows. I'm really proud of her for purchasing this house. It's a great find! I also got to meet up with Dustin and Neesha for dinner on Saturday night. I absolutely enjoy hanging out with them and catching up whenever I can. And, of course, ate some Shakesphere's today. Delicious. I'm realizing more and more that it is so important to have a close set of friends who support you and call you out when you're stupid.
Tomorrow I start back up with indoor volleyball...super excited to get back into a sports groove.

A New Beginning
Well, I'm just coming back from a great trip with my friends. We went to Asheville, North Carolina where we had a great cabin there with a great view. We also visited the Biltmore Estate.

Now, I'm back to work and ready to enjoy Halloween with my students tomorrow. I'm also contemplating getting back to the gym. I've started realizing that I'm very unhappy with my life and the way I look. It's becoming more apparent to me...so I'm looking to a new beginning. I'm hoping to get back to the gym starting this weekend. I hope to use this blog to keep up with my life and my new adventures.
