Thinking of 2010

So, I have been really thinking about next year and what it brings for me. It will be 10 years since I have graduated high school. That's just insane. I have accomplished a lot in those 10 years. I have my master's degree and a great job. I have completely become more independent since college. I'm really happy with my life right now and super excited for what God has planned in the future.

Next year I am going to take charge of my life a little more though. I think that I am going to set a goal for myself to run. The big goal being to run a 5K, but I will start with little goals. First, I'd like to just run a mile comfortably. In high school, I was in great shape for volleyball. Somehow I just let myself go. So, this year, I'm doing it. I hope that this blog will help hold me accountable to myself. It's hard that most of my best friends are runners and I can't share that with them. So, here I go. 2010 = healthier eating + more physical activity = happier Haley.

In other news, I'm so excited to spend the 2nd annual NYE in Columbia with my best friends. It was so much fun last year...I can't wait for this year. I'll be toasting in 2010 with my favorite people.

So, Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year. I'll see ya in 2010!

Weekend in Columbia!

This weekend I went to visit my friend, Beth in Columbia. It was a great time for me to get away from St. Louis and have some relaxing fun with my friend. We took in a bonfire/hayride, tailgated before the Mizzou game, and went shopping. She bought a new house out there, so we got to peek in the windows. I'm really proud of her for purchasing this house. It's a great find! I also got to meet up with Dustin and Neesha for dinner on Saturday night. I absolutely enjoy hanging out with them and catching up whenever I can. And, of course, ate some Shakesphere's today. Delicious. I'm realizing more and more that it is so important to have a close set of friends who support you and call you out when you're stupid.

Tomorrow I start back up with indoor volleyball...super excited to get back into a sports groove.

A New Beginning

Well, I'm just coming back from a great trip with my friends. We went to Asheville, North Carolina where we had a great cabin there with a great view. We also visited the Biltmore Estate.

Now, I'm back to work and ready to enjoy Halloween with my students tomorrow. I'm also contemplating getting back to the gym. I've started realizing that I'm very unhappy with my life and the way I look. It's becoming more apparent to me...so I'm looking to a new beginning. I'm hoping to get back to the gym starting this weekend. I hope to use this blog to keep up with my life and my new adventures.
